Arsenal news: Gunners ace slammed as fans direct north London derby chants at Mikel Arteta

Arsenal fans directed their chants at Mikel Arteta during their embarrassing 3-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday night.

Victory for the Gunners would have booked them a top-four spot, but two goals from Harry Kane and one from Son Heung-min guaranteed the win.

It comes as Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu have reportedly submitted their opening offer for Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus. And Rob Holding has been slammed for his red card during the 3-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur.

Fans chant at Arteta

Arsenal fans were left understandably gutted following the 3-0 loss to bitter rivals Tottenham.

The Gunners threw the game away in a 15-minute spell in which they gave away a penalty, which Harry Kane converted, before Rob Holding was sent off and then the England captain doubled the lead four minutes after that with a stooping header before Son Heung-min’s clever finish ket the top four race alive.

But despite the loss, Arsenal fans did all they could to cheer up their manager with chants of “We’ve got Super Mik Arteta”. And the songs speak volumes about how highly the Gunners supporters rate their manager.

Holding slammed

Arsenal fans were not impressed by Rob Holding after the defender was sent off during the north London derby against.

The Gunners fell to a 3-0 humbling against north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday night, with Holding’s red card one of the game’s key moments. The centre-back was sent off just after the half-hour mark as he collided with Heung-min Son as the ball was put through to the Spurs forward.

Holding had already been booked for an earlier foul on the South Korean, with fans taking to social media to vent their frustration at the defender. And Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp was also left less than impressed, as he labelled his fouls “judo moves”.

Jesus bid ‘submitted’

Arsenal have reportedly submitted their opening offer for Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus.

The Gunners are in the market for two new forwards in the summer transfer window, with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah likely to leave when their contracts expire at the end of the season. And City forward Jesus has emerged as their top target as Arteta chases a striker capable of leading the line for his side next term.

And reports now suggest the Gunners have made an opening bid of £42m.
