Chelsea news: Ousmane Dembele’s move edges closer as “fall apart” message sent to players

Ousmane Dembele is reportedly closing in on his move to Chelsea.

The French winger could move to Stamford Bridge on a free transfer when his contract at Spanish giants Barcelona expires next month, with Paris Saint-Germain also thought to be keen on signing him. But Dembele has reportedly snubbed a move to the French capital in favour of joining Thomas Tuchel’s side.

It comes as Saul Niguez has thanked his Chelsea teammates for keeping him from ‘falling apart’ during his loan spell with the Blues. And Christian Pulisic faces an uncertain future with the Blues after with Liverpool reportedly keen on the American.

Dembele move near

Ousmane Dembele has reportedly decided to reject an offer from Paris Saint-Germain and sign for Chelsea.

Reports coming out of France have suggested the winger will sign with the Blues, having waited to make his decision until after Todd Boehly’s takeover had gone through. And the deal reportedly ‘took off’ once the takeover was finalised and Dembele will sign on the dotted line in the coming days.

It comes despite an offer for Dembele to return to France with PSG.

Saul thanks players

Saul Niguez has sent an emotional thank you to his Chelsea teammates Aafter his tough season-long loan at Stamford Bridge came to an end.

The Atletico Madrid midfielder spent last season with the Blues, but failed to live up to Thomas Tuchel’s expectations, appearing only 23 times for the club. The Blues have reportedly decided not to trigger the €35million (£29.9m) buy option in his loan contract, and Saul has now said his farewells to the club.

As well as thanking Chelsea fans and staff, the midfielder praised his teammates for stopping him ‘fall apart’ during his time in west London.

Pulisic faces uncertain future

Christian Pulisic faces an uncertain future with Chelsea amid reports that Liverpool are understood to be interested in signing him.

Reports suggest that he has shown no intention of extending his contract at the Blues, which expires in two years’ time, and could be set to move. The former Dortmund star wants to go into the Qatar World Cup in good shape and with lots of playing time under his belt, and he expressed his dissatisfaction with the amount of game time he’s been getting at Chelsea earlier this week.

And it could lead to the American leaving Stamford Bridge sooner rather than later.
