‘Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero’ Will Be Released This Summer

While the anime movie Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero will be released theatrically in Japan on June 11, the movie will also be coming to theaters in the U.S. this Summer.

Specifically, Crunchyroll will be bringing the movie Westward, so fans won’t need to wait too long until the movie is available outside of Japan. As for the specific U.S. release date for the movie, it’s likely to be sometime in August.

The movie will see the return of the Red Ribbon Army and have Piccolo and Gohan battle new androids called Gamma 1 and Gamma 2, who call themselves “Super Heroes”.

The important news in all this is that Akira Toriyama is heavily involved in the movie’s production, writing the story and the screenplay as well as penning the character designs.

Following the huge success of Dragon Ball Super: Broly, having Toriyama so involved again on Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is definitely a good thing and I am expecting something very special from this movie.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is released theatrically in Japan on June 11 and will see a Western theatrical release this Summer.
