The first weekend of the Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II beta has come and gone and the second weekend is about to begin.
Weekend #1 was all about PlayStation. Despite the ongoing acquisition of Activision by Microsoft, the PlayStation/Call Of Duty deal remains in place—for now. If Microsoft’s buyout goes according to plan, this will be the last year we see PS4 and PS5 gamers get an edge on a Call Of Duty release.
This time, however, PC and Xbox gamers have had to wait. They can dive back into this weekend into two distinct beta phases. Here’s how it breaks down:
Modern Warfare II beta weekend #2 Early Access begins Thursday, September 22nd at 10am PT / 1pm ET. This is open to all PlayStation gamers and to PC and Xbox gamers who pre-ordered or have an Early Access key.
Content creators—like yours truly—are giving away keys ahead of the beta. Watch the video below for instructions on how to get a beta key on PC or Xbox:
The open beta—which encompasses all players on PC, Xbox and PlayStation—kicks off on Saturday, September 24th at 10am PT / 1pm ET.
The beta has been a controversial introduction to Modern Warfare II, with a number of divisive gameplay decisions such as the removal of enemy nameplates stirring up the pot. I’ll be curious to see what everyone thinks.
