Jurgen Klopp has delivered his verdict of Champions League final opponents Real Madrid ahead of Saturday’s showdown in Paris.
The Reds face off against the LaLiga champions hoping to reverse the result of the 2018 final which Madrid won 3-1. And Liverpool boss Klopp is clearly wary of his team’s opponents, who he has described as being “world class”.
It comes as AS Monaco midfielder Aurélien Tchouameni has reportedly made his ‘final transfer choice’ after receiving offers from both Real Madrid and Liverpool. While Real Madrid have identified a weakness within the Reds team that they think they can exploit to “create danger” in the Champions League final

Klopp’s Real Madrid verdict
Jurgen Klopp says his Liverpool team will face a “world-class team” who “know how to win football games” when they face Real Madrid in the Champions League final this weekend.
The Reds are hoping they can lift their third trophy of the season following their FA Cup and Carabao Cup wins, having narrowly missed out on claiming the Premier League title last week. They have a familiar opposition in their way, though, having also faced the Spanish giants in the final in 2018 with Madrid taking the spoils on that occasion.
Klopp says the core of that side is “still there” and perhaps in a slight reference to Mohamed Salah’s injury in that 2018 game, added that Madrid are “not out there to play friendly games”.
Tchouameni’s final decision
Aurélien Tchouameni has reportedly made his decision after being offered the chance to sign for either Real Madrid or Liverpool this summer.
The French midfielder has had a very impressive year with AS Monaco, having also made his debut with the France national side. His fine form has led to the player being courted by clubs from across Europe and reports this week claimed the race to land his signature was down to a straight shootout between Real Madrid and Liverpool.
But it appears it could be bad news for the Reds, with reports coming out of France suggesting Tchouameni could be moving to Spain.
Madrid find tactical key
Real Madrid can expose Liverpool in Saturday’s Champions League final, according to Dani Carvajal, provided they can get past their “first line of pressure.”
Under Reds manager Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool have become known for their intense “Gegenpressing” style of play, which attempts to press opponents while the ball is in their own half of the field. And Carvajal thinks his side can be successful if they bypass Liverpool’s press.
And the Real defender thinks the game could hinge on Madrid’s ability to implement that plan.
