Jurgen Klopp made a secret last-ditch attempt to try and persuade Aurelien Tchouameni to sign for Liverpool.
The Monaco midfielder has become one of the most sought-after signings of the summer transfer window having told his club of his wish to leave. But the Reds appear to have lost out on the player’s signature as he prefers a move to Real Madrid – despite Klopp’s best efforts.
It comes as Luis Diaz has sent Liverpool fans an emotional message over his January transfer from Porto. And Sadio Mane, who has been linked with leaving the Anfield club this week has been sent a warning over his potential summer move.

Klopp’s secret Tchouameni trip
Aurelien Tchouameni looks set to turn down Liverpool’s transfer offer despite Jurgen Klopp’s secret trip to try and convince him.
The Monaco midfielder appears set to instead sign for Spanish giants Real Madrid for around £68million. Reports coming out of Spain suggest the European champions beat the Reds to Tchouameni’s signature despite Klopp’s best efforts, which included a special trip to Monaco and a personal phone call to the midfielder.
And it seems Liverpool will have to now move on to other targets, with Tchouameni said to have his heart set on a move to Madrid.
Diaz sends emotional message
Liverpool forward Luis Diaz has said “dreams come true” after an incredible start to life at Anfield following his January transfer from Porto.
The Colombia winger joined the Reds in the January transfer window for a fee that could rise to £50million with add-ons – and he’s already looking like an inspired signing. He made an immediate impact at the club, registering four goals and three assists in the Premier League following his move.
Diaz has now opened up about his time in Liverpool so far, and in an emotional message to fans has said that since moving to the club he has been “living what I have deeply wished for all my life”.
Mane’s transfer warning
Sadio Mane has been reminded of Emre Can’s comments amid rumours he is seeking to leave Liverpool this summer.
The Reds forward appeared to suggest he will be looking to depart the Anfield club following the Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid as he said he would “wish this team all the success in the world”. But a move would have a number of similarities with Emre Can’s Liverpool departure in 2018, when he let his contract run down and signed for Juventus.
The German midfielder said he wanted to “win titles” when he made the move – but may have actually ended up with more medals had he stayed a Liverpool player.
