Marquee signing urged

Stan Collymore has urged Liverpool to sign Manchester United target Darwin Nunez to ” fire shots across the bows of the other big clubs in the Premier League “.

The Reds could well be keen to sign a new forward in the summer transfer window should Sadio Mane leave the club – and Collymore thinks Nunez would be a great signing. The Benfica forward has been linked with a move to Manchester United this summer but former Reds ace Collymore wants his old side to beat them to his signature.

According to Collymore, signing Nunez would send a message to Premier League rivals that Liverpool are “in it to win it” and “if it’s a choice between Liverpool and United at the moment then it’s a no-brainer to go to Liverpool”.

Bayern plot revenge

Bayern Munich are willing to take their time in order to sign Sadio Mane from Liverpool.

The German giants are ready to learn from a transfer between the two sides previously that saw them lose one of their most-prized assets. The deal saw Liverpool sign Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara in September 2020.

Bayern Munich appears to be attempting a similar deal this time around. According to reports in Germany, the Bavarian giants have already had an offer of £21 million, plus £4 million in add-ons rejected by Liverpool, but they are not giving up

They are now reported to be preparing a second offer of £30 million, plus £4.2 million in potential bonuses but like Liverpool’s deal for Thiago, are prepared to wait to ensure they don’t overpay for their man.
