Liverpool’s stance in the summer transfer window is beginning to enter the unknown following a number of reports linking them to potential new signings, despite the club insisting that there would be no more money spent after already adding three new players to their squad.
Nonetheless, links involving Serge Gnabry have resurfaced amid the German’s current contract situation at Bayern Munich, while Real Madrid’s wantaway forward Marco Asensio has reportedly been ‘made an offer’ from the Reds. Elsewhere, Takumi Minamino’s exit has been confirmed, while Divock Origi’s departure for AC Milan is also nearing completion.
Mirror Football takes a look at all the latest transfer stories coming out of Anfield…
Gnabry links resurface
Following the departures of both Sadio Mane, Takumi Minamino and soon-to-be Divock Origi this summer, Liverpool are now being linked with a number of forward players as a result, with their attacking options lacking less depth than last season.
And according to Sport, the Reds have Gnabry in their sights after the exits of the aforementioned trio, as Jurgen Klopp looks to ensure that his side don’t suffer next season due to the number of exits from their frontline, regardless of the arrival of Darwin Nunez.
This isn’t the first time that Gnabry has been linked with a move to Anfield and with his current contract at Bayern Munich set to enter the final 12 months, he is yet to agree on any form of extension to keep him at the Allianz Arena beyond next summer.

Reds make Asensio ‘offer’
Another forward who has been linked with a move to Liverpool in recent times is Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio, who is looking to move away from the Santiago Bernabeu this summer in search of more regular first team football.
It was initially believed that Asensio would not be in favour of linking up with the Reds due to their depth in attack, but the latest report from Spanish news outlet COPE has claimed that Liverpool have made the 26-year-old an offer to move to Anfield this summer.
The report states that Asensio’s future is “increasingly likely” to be away from Real Madrid, but does not say which club is likely to sign him, with AC Milan also said to be interested in a move for the Spaniard.
Minamino exit confirmed
Japanese international Takumi Minamino has finally had his exit from Liverpool confirmed by the club, following the news that a fee had been agreed for him to move to AS Monaco after two-and-a-half-years at Anfield.
Minamino has joined the Ligue 1 side for a fee believed to be worth up to £15.5 million, which is more than double the £7.25m fee the Reds paid to sign him from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020.
The 27-year-old was a valued member of the squad but failed to cement his place in the starting XI during his time on Merseyside, yet he leaves with a record of 14 goals and three assists in 55 appearances in all competitions, while he helped the club to win the Premier League, Carabao Cup and FA Cup during his stay.
