Liverpool transfer round-up: Reds urged to sign Harry Kane amid Jude Bellingham hints

Liverpool may be preparing for Saturday’s FA Cup final against Chelsea as they aim to win their second piece of silverware this season and keep alive their faint hopes of a famous quadruple, but there is plenty of preparation going on outside the football pitch as well.

The Reds have been urged to sign Harry Kane as the perfect response to Manchester City ’s capture of Erling Haaland, while the club’s slow process to signing Aurelien Tchouameni could be a suggestion that Jurgen Klopp’s side are waiting on Jude Bellingham.

Mirror Football takes a look at all the latest transfer news coming out of Anfield…

Harry Kane signing would be “perfect response”

Former Aston Villa and Chelsea player Tony Cascarino believes that Liverpool should sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur this summer as the “perfect response” to Man City’s capture of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

The former Republic of Ireland forward explained in The Times, via the Liverpool Echo: “Signing Harry Kane would be the perfect way for Liverpool to respond to City’s capture of Haaland. Tottenham Hotspur are set to finish outside the Champions League places and if that happens Kane is unlikely to want to stay for another year.

“The England talisman cannot go to City because of Haaland’s move, Manchester United are not an option because they will miss out on the Champions League and Chelsea already have Romelu Lukaku. That leaves Liverpool as the only suitable destination for Kane — and he would be a great fit for Klopp’s team.”

Tchouameni delay could hint at Bellingham deal

Liverpool have been strongly linked with signing Monaco’s Aurelien Tchouameni this summer as the Frenchman seems destined to leave the club at the end of the season, although no official bid has yet been made by the Reds.

And according to the Express , Liverpool might be delaying a move for the 22-year-old as they look to leave the door open for a deal for Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham instead, although this may not be until 2023.

It has been reported that the Reds will not spend big this summer, which means it could be led to believe that they are confident with what they have for another season and will wait to launch a big money bid for Bellingham in a year’s time instead.

Liverpool can sign their ‘own Kevin de Bruyne’

Despite being linked with a number of targets, Liverpool are not planning on making a midfield addition this summer unless the right opportunity arises, according to the Liverpool Echo, but one certain player has been pipped to be the ‘perfect’ addition to Jurgen Klopp’s midfield.

According to RB Live , as reported by Liverpool.com , RB Leipzig would be open to listening to offers for Dominik Szoboszlai this summer. The Hungarian has enjoyed a fruitful campaign in his debut season, having scored 10 goals and registering eight assists for the club.

Szoboszlai has been described as a technical and energetic midfielder who would be well-suited to Klopp’s gegenpressing style, having ranked highly for number of successful pressures per 90 minutes (6.76) among his positional peers this season.
