Mourinho plots raid

Manchester United right-backs Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka have reportedly caught the interest of Jose Mourinho.

The AS Roma boss signed Dalot during his time at Old Trafford and could try and do so for a second time this summer, although Wan-Bissaka is also said to be on Mourinho’s radar. Reports coming out of Italy suggest the Portuguese boss has an eye on both United players, with potential loan moves with the option to make the signings permanent being rumoured.

It appears Mourinho wants fresh options in the right-back position after playing Rick Karsdorp in the role for most of the season, as Ainsley Maitland-Niles struggled to make an impact during his loan spell from Arsenal.

With plenty of outgoings already planned for the summer window, it appears the criteria will be key in helping United choose who to target as they look to improve on a miserable campaign last term.

Manchester United should hijack bitter rivals Man City’s attempts to replace Fernandinho with Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips, according to David James.

Reports have suggested Pep Guardiola wants to sign the England international as Fernandinho’s replacement, with the Brazilian due to leave when his contract expires this summer.
