Frenkie de Jong blow
Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has reportedly told Barcelona he would like to stay at the Camp Nou this summer after being linked with a move to Manchester United.
Incoming United boss Erik ten Hag worked with De Jong at Ajax and is said to have been keen on a reunion with his former midfielder. But the Red Devils may now have to move on to other targets with reports suggesting De Jong wants to remain with the Catalan club.
Barcelona manager Xavi is said to be keen to keep hold of the midfielder – with United’s only hope now appearing to be that the Blaugrana’s board decide they want to cash in on the Holland international.
Ruben Neves hint spotted
Ruben Neves has given his clearest sign yet that he could leave Wolves this summer after bursting into tears following the club’s final home game of the season.
Fans serenaded the midfielder with chants of “don’t sell Neves” following reports linking him with a summer move Manchester United during Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Norwich. As the players took part in a lap of honour to thank fans for their support this season, Neves was then spotted waving to supporters in tears.
United have been linked with a move for the Portugal international to help solve their problems in the centre of the park, and Neves’ actions could be a sign that he may look to leave Wolves when the transfer window opens.
Work begins on Kalvin Phillips deal
Manchester United have reportedly started working on a deal to secure the summer transfer of Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
Phillips, 26, is reportedly preparing to switch agents in the hopes of landing a summer move and could secure a highly controversial transfer by moving to United. The England player grew up as a Leeds fan, and his entire family is said to be huge supporters of the club.
But that may not stop him from securing a summer switch, with Leeds now favourites for relegation from the Premier League with the club sitting 18th in the table.
