The 25-year-old Dutch midfielder is said to be “disgusted” with his current club’s treatment of him, although Erik ten Hag still needs to convince him over leaving the Camp Nou.

Man Utd board stay in Barcelona

Manchester United directors Richard Arnold and John Murtagh are staying in Barcelona overnight after a day of talks over the signing of Frenkie de Jong.

That’s according to Gerard Romero, who claim United’s leaders have not returned to Manchester and are staying put in Spain for at least another day.

Man Utd ‘walk away’ from Paredes talks

United have ‘enquired’ about the possibility of signing Leandro Paredes, according to L’Equipe.

However, despite enquiring about Paredes, the report adds that United ‘walked out of dialogue’ after Paris Saint Germain set a £29.6million valuation of the player, who turned 28 last month.

Paredes’ contract expires in the summer of 2024.

Man Utd ‘identify’ De Jong alternatives

Manchester United have ‘identified’ Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans and Wolves ace Ruben Neves as alternatives if their hopes of bringing Frenkie de Jong to the club collapse.

That is according to a report by talkSPORT, who claim that the Reds have a ‘contingency plan’ in place if they are unable to land their top target.

United registered their interest in De Jong two months ago and talks have been ongoing ever since. Erik ten Hag remains determined to land his top target.

Ajax signing has nothing to do with Antony rumours

Ajax signing Francisco Conceição from FC Porto has nothing to do with a possible move of Antony.

That’s according to journalist Mike Verweij, who claims the Dutch club are making it clear that Antony is not close to a departure nor is the club open to selling him unless €80million is being paid.

De Jong to Man Utd is “very, very, very hot”

Frenkie de Jong’s potential transfer to Manchester United is “very, very, very hot”, according to journalist Gerard Romero.

Richard Arnold and John Murtagh have been in Barcelona today to reportedly negotiate over the transfer of De Jong – with Erik ten Hag keen to reunite with the midfielder.

Man Utd set for transfer battle with Arsenal

Reports suggest Manchester United are set for another transfer battle with Arsenal this summer.

Both clubs are in the market for Lisandro Martinez and United have submitted an offer. But could another defender have to decide between those two?

The Athletic suggest Kyle Walker-Peters has emerged as a right-back option for Erik ten Hag as he continues to set about his summer rebuild.

United want a further two defensive recruits after signing left-back Tyrell Malacia.

Fred makes Ten Hag admission

Fred says Manchester United cannot afford any more cliques and divisions within their squad if they are to be successful under new boss Erik ten Hag.

“I think we have to be united,” said Fred. “All aspects of last season were difficult, which is hard. This season with a new manager, with new rules already, we’ll look to unite and stick together, as that’s how our team must be.

“We have to be strong and to be strong we have to be united. We hope we can be focused and strong. Erik can help us to continue being united. Last season was really difficult for everyone. For some years now, we haven’t won any trophies.”

Ajax increase valuation of Man Utd target Martinez

Ajax have increased their asking price for Lisandro Martinez as Manchester United continue to chase the 24-year-old as they look to strengthen their back-line.

Erik ten Hag is keen to reunite with the Argentine defender but Ajax are playing hardball and now demand a fee of around £52million for Martinez this summer.

The player has made it clear he wants to leave the Dutch giants and is hoping to force through a move to the Red Devils.

Man Utd ‘tracking’ Williams

Manchester United are plotting a move for Athletic Bilbao star Nico Williams this summer.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, the Red Devils are ready to battle Liverpool for the 19-year-old’s signature, as they weigh up activating his £42million release clause.

Williams made scored three goals in 39 appearances in all competitions last season, having emerged from the Athletic academy the campaign prior.

Fulham confirm Pereira signing

Fulham have confirmed the signing of Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira on a permanent deal.

The 26-year-old has signed a four-year contract under the summer of 2026 and becomes the Cottagers’ second summer addition after Palhinha joined.

Pereira spent 10 seasons at the Red Devils and reacted as he made the switch to the Whites. He said: “I’m very happy to be here and I can’t wait to start the season with Fulham.

“I want to help Fulham as much as I can to be where they belong. Marco Silva was very important for this. I spoke a lot with him, and he was a key factor in me being here.”

Man Utd board spotted in Barcelona

Manchester United directors Richard Arnold and John Murtagh have been spotted in Barcelona amid their interest in Frenkie de Jong.

The Red Devils are currently in Thailand preparing for their first pre-season friendly against Liverpool, but it seems as though Arnold and Murtagh are trying their best to get De Jong over the line.

Pogba’s first words as Juventus player

Paul Pogba is a Juventus player once more and claims he “can’t wait to win trophies again” having failed to do so in five of his six seasons with Manchester United.

The 29-year-old will now begin his second stint in Turin, making the move from Old Trafford for the second time in his career. At the age of 19, Pogba opted to leave United for Juve – only to return four years later in a club-record deal worth £89million.

Having become one of the best midfield players on the planet during his time in Italian football, the academy graduate was expected to be the centrepiece of a dominant United side under the stewardship of Jose Mourinho.

De Jong and Xavi’s relationship ‘breaks down’

Frenkie de Jong has returned to training at Barcelona but his relationship with boss Xavi Hernandez has broken down as Manchester United remain hopeful on signing the midfielder.

United have an initial transfer fee agreed with Barcelona with the value of £56.2million to sign the midfielder this summer. However, the deal has hit a significant stumbling block due to the outstanding payments De Jong is owed by Barca.

Despite their bullish public stance that the Dutchman will be remaining at the Camp Nou, Barca are privately claiming that they are open to his departure this summer. A fresh report has claimed that De Jong’s relationship with Barca officials has broken down.

Brobbey would ‘prefer’ Ajax over United

Manchester United transfer target Brian Brobbey would reportedly prefer a permanent move to Ajax over reuniting with Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.

De Telegraaf, via Sport Witness, say that the Red Devils would only stand a chance of signing the 20-year-old Dutch striker if negotiations between Ajax – where he spent last season on loan – and parent club RB Leipzig stall.

Juventus snub United in Pogba statement

Juventus have officially confirmed the return of Paul Pogba, claiming he arrives back in Turin as a “man and a champion” – but opted to not mention his time at Manchester United.

The Red Devils’ record signing, who is back at the Serie A giants for his second stint, ended his latest at Old Trafford earlier this summer. Signed for £89million back in 2016, the United academy graduate failed to ever live up to his fee, becoming the focal point of a team defined by its mediocrity.

During his six years back in Manchester, Pogba won the Europa League, FA Cup and EFL Cup, but failed to inspire his side to anything like a Premier League title challenge. And for the second time, the Frenchman declined to sign a new deal, enabling him to leave for Juve on both occasions.

Tuchel’s cheeky response

Thomas Tuchel has laughed off speculation linking Chelsea with Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

The veteran forward, 37, has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge after reportedly handing in a transfer request at Old Trafford. United do not want to sell him as he is part of new manager Erik ten Hag’s plans. Ronaldo has one year remaining on his existing deal.

Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly wants to build a squad capable of winning the Premier League this coming season – brokering a deal to sign Raheem Sterling from Manchester City – and it’s believed he’s held talks with Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes over a move.
