Man Utd transfer round-up: Bastoni on Ten Hag’s radar as Pogba ‘agreed’ City terms

Manchester United’s plans for next season are already well underway and now that Erik ten Hag has arrived to meet players and staff at the club, it is thought that he will aim to get the ball rolling ahead of the beginning of pre-season.

And the Dutchman has already added Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni to his transfer wish list, as he looks to improve United’s leaky defence. Elsewhere, reports have revealed that Paul Pogba had initially ‘agreed’ personal terms with Manchester City ahead of a potential move this summer.

Mirror Football takes a look at all of the latest transfer stories coming out of Old Trafford…

Bastoni on ten Hag radar

While Manchester United may be looking to add Jurrien Timber to their defensive options this summer, incoming manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly interested in Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni, who is firmly on the Dutchman’s radar.

According to reports from FcInter1908, via Football Transfer Tavern , United are pressing to sign Bastoni at the end of the season as ten Hag remains intent on signing a new centre back to solve the clubs defensive crisis ahead of the next campaign.

Raphael Varane was signed for £34m last year but has had a mediocre start to life at Old Trafford, while Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly have all failed to live up to the billing this term.

Pogba ‘agreed’ City terms

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba seems to be on his way out of Old Trafford upon the expiry of his contract at the end of the season and although he looks to be in the middle of a transfer battle between Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, things could have been so very different for the Frenchman.

Previous reports have stated that Pogba was attracting interest from Premier League rivals Manchester City and that a move had a lot of potential to happen, before it was revealed that the midfielder would be moving abroad this summer.

However, according to The Times , Pogba had already ‘agreed’ personal terms with United’s city rivals ahead of a proposed move this summer, before things fell through after he was advised of the backlash he would receive as a result of the transfer.

Wan-Bissaka ‘allowed’ Old Trafford departure

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has reportedly been told that he is ‘allowed’ to leave Old Trafford this summer, despite signing for the club for £50 million from Crystal Palace just three years ago, as Erik ten Hag looks to improve his options at right back.

That’s according to Sky Sports , who have reported that Manchester United are willing to listen to offers for the out-of-favour defender this summer, who has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot this season after struggling for consistency.

However, he is only allowed to leave if an ‘appropriate’ offer comes in for him, although he has already been linked with a return to Selhurst Park this summer, along with potential moves to Jose Mourinho ’s Roma, Newcastle United and Everton.
