New Superyacht Season Kicks Off With New Superyacht-Specific Entertainment

When it comes to escaping the everyday stress and hassle of land-based life—in the lap of luxury—it’s pretty hard to top spending time onboard a superyacht. With crews trained to anticipate every request. Chefs trained to prepare food worthy of Michelin stars. And massive “beach clubs” that mix the salty purity of the ocean with over-the-top accommodations that include massive High-Def TV’s, cushy couches and of course, a well-stocked bar superyacht guests pretty much have it all

However, when it comes to superyachts having it all isn’t always enough. In fact, more and more superyacht owners and charterers are looking for onboard entertainment that’s both exclusive and experiential.

And after a preview of his new onboard experience, “Immersion” that was performed on-board the 236-foot-long Stella Maris at the recent MYBA Charter Show in Barcelona, it appears the magician Tony Steward’s ability to captivate an audience with mind-games, card tricks, illusions, showmanship and even the ability to levitate furniture could be exactly what superyacht owners and charters are looking for.

Lies Sol, a Charter Broker working in Phuket for Northrop & Johnson who participated directly in one of the card tricks says, “I had no idea at all how he managed to do that!”

Another broker who wanted to remain nameless so that she did not possibly spoil the surprise for her guests later in the year, said: “I have already booked Tony to perform during a couple of upcoming charters to entertain the guests.”

But that’s not really a surprise since Steward has 30 years’ experience preforming for superyacht owners and guests. And it appears the demand—from superyacht brokers, guests and crews from St. Barths in the Caribbean to St. Tropez in the Mediterranean—for his unique brand of sophisticated magic is higher than ever.
