If you’ve ever wanted to spend the summer touring Northern Europe, leading hotel chain Nordic Choice has an ideal offer for you. The chain has announced that its unlimited hotel nights pass will return for the summer of 2022.
58-night and 7-night passes available
The unlimited pass allows up to 58 nights of hotel stays for two people between June 24 and August 21.
Priced at €3,000 (approx. $3,160), the unlimited pass starts to approach good value if you plan to stay more than two weeks in the region, especially as it includes breakfast. If you do manage to use all 58 nights, it works out at less than $55 per person.
Of more use to the average traveler will be the 7-day pass, available for €595 (approx. $626). Marketed as ‘my summer treat’, the pass also includes breakfast and would work out at about $89 per night for the full seven nights.
If you’re planning a week-long trip to the Nordics this summer and have some flexibility on location, this is a great deal.
What’s included in the passes?
Nordic Choice is not a single hotel brand and you may be surprised how many hotels are included in the deal. There are 209 eligible properties across the Nordic Choice group, including 99 in Sweden and 94 in Norway. There are far fewer hotels in other Nordic countries though.
Brands including Clarion Hotel, Clarion Collection, Quality Hotel and Comfort Hotel are included, although a handful of premium hotels such as Oslo’s The Thief and the Icehotel of Jukkasjärvi are excluded from the deal.
Pass holders are entitled to book a standard room for two adults, subject to availability. Passes are non-transferable and can only be used for one hotel per night. Breakfast is always included in the room rate.
Holders of the unlimited pass can stay for up to five consecutive nights at a single hotel but not more than 15 nights at one hotel over the life of the pass. Those holding the 7-day pass can spend all seven days at the same hotel if desired, subject to availability.
Is it good value?
Of course, there is no one answer to this question as it depends on how you use the pass and what your alternatives are.
Firstly, the pass is best-suited to those planning a tour of Norway, Sweden, or both countries. The 7-day pass certainly offers good value if you book in advance to guarantee availability of your preferred locations.
The unlimited pass will prove more valuable the longer you stay. Anything over three weeks will almost certainly result in significant savings especially at popular hotels that would otherwise run in excess of $200 per night.
Other things to consider are the free snack and light meal included at Clarion Collection properties. Members of the Nordic Choice Club loyalty program also earn points on qualifying nights booked using the passes.
