Soccer Aid 2022 LIVE: Liam Payne’s England take on Usain Bolt’s World XI in charity game

Soccer Aid 2022 is here!

England will take on the World XI for the 11th time in the popular charity fixture. Both teams have lifted the trophy five times, yet the Three Lions haven’t tasted victory since 2018.

Can England finally end their unlucky run on Sunday evening? Mirror Football’s one and only Tom Blow is at the London Stadium to find out!

The hosts will be captained by One Direction legend Liam Payne, who makes his Soccer Aid debut. Olympic icon Usain Bolt returns to captain the World XI for the fourth time and will be dreaming of lifting the famous trophy once again.

Soccer Aid iconic moments

Dozens of charity football games are played each year, yet there’s nothing quite like Soccer Aid.

Robbie Williams’ popular fixture has been entertaining sell-out crowds and TV viewers since the inaugural fixture was held at Old Trafford in 2006, all in aid of UNICEF – a charity committed to providing humanitarian and developmental aid to children across the world.
