Richarlison’s three positions

Antonio Conte tried new signing Richarlison out in three positions during Tottenham’s opening pre-season game.

The Italian’s side were involved in a goal bonanza as an All-Star team of South Korean K-League players lost 6-3 in Seoul. Richarlison played for 77 minutes, with Conte playing him as a number nine, on the right and behind the striker.

And following the game, Conte was full of praise for the versatility of his new signing saying Richarlison “can play in all these three positions”.

The new Spurs forward also managed to set-up one of the goals for his side and after the game Conte added he is “very happy that we signed him”.

Walker-Peters’ £30m transfer clause

Spurs could gazump Manchester United and bitter rivals Arsenal thanks to a £30million transfer clause they inserted into Kyle Walker-Peters’ move to Southampton.

The 25-year-old joined the Saints in 2020, and has impressed for Ralph Hasenhüttl so much that United and Arsenal are rumoured to be interested in signing him this summer. But Spurs will have first refusal after insisting on a £30million buyback clause being inserted into the agreement that saw him leave the club.

Reports suggest Southampton may decide to cash in on the full-back this summer following the emergence of Tino Livramento last season, meaning Spurs would have to activate the release clause or risk seeing him join one of the Premier League rivals.
