And the games don’t get any easier, with the visit of West Ham United coming up next. The Hammers also have top four aspirations themselves and however slim their chances may be, they will look to keep them alive with a victory at Stamford Bridge.

A win here for the hosts will at least preserve their five point lead in third place, while three points for the Irons could see them move up to fifth.

When is Chelsea vs West Ham?

Chelsea vs West Ham will kick-off at 2pm on Sunday, April 24 at Stamford Bridge.

The last meeting between these two sides came in the reverse league fixture back in December, when West Ham shocked the Blues with a 3-2 victory at the London Stadium.

Goals from Thiago Silva and Mason Mount either side of a Manuel Lanzini penalty had given Chelsea a 2-1 lead at half-time, but West Ham responded through Jarrod Bowen and Arthur Masuake in the second half to turn the game on its head and take home all three points.

Team news

Thomas Tuchel is more than likely expected to make changes from the midweek defeat to Arsenal following a disappointing display from his side, but he will still have to contend with five injury concerns ahead of this tie.

Andreas Christensen is a doubt after picking up an injury on Wednesday, while the same can be said for Antonio Rudiger (groin), who may need another week to recover, but Mateo Kovacic (ankle), Callum Hudson-Odoi (Achilles) and Ben Chilwell (knee) are ruled out.

As for David Moyes, his side will be feeling fully refreshed after not playing since last week’s draw with Burnley, and he has no fresh injury concerns to worry about ahead of Sunday’s fixture.

Nonetheless, he will remain without three of his first team players, as Kurt Zouma (ankle) misses the chance to feature against his former club, along with Issa Diop (ankle) and Angelo Ogbonna (knee), who are also ruled out.
